Cons First:-All of the draw slides are already preinstalled on the inside walls of the dresser prior to packaging. Some of the drawer slides were set unevenly to their partner on the other side. This made certain drawers protrude and not close evenly after everything was assembled. I had to remove them with a screw driver and reinstall them in the correct position. Not a huge deal if you’re handy, only took a few extra minutes with a tape measure to line it all up and reinstall slides.-Box arrived dinged up but it was packaged very well and protected inside.-The two thin pieces of backing that slide into the rear of the dresser were warped but straightened out once slid into their final positions and everything was tightened.-You don’t get any extra hardware. They provide exactly as many screws as you need. Don’t drop or lose them while unpacking.Pros:- Arrived 1 week prior to the expected delivery date. This was a pleasant surprise.-It is packaged and protected well inside the bix. A ton of styrofoam, cardboard protectors, and plastic wrap.-Assembly was simple and straight forward. I put it together by myself in about an hour. Assemble it on a soft surface to avoid scratching any of the pieces.-Ready for finish right out of the box as advertised. Took stain extremely well and required zero prep other than a quick wet wipe. It was glass smooth upon arrival. Used 1 coat of Minwax Waterbased Semi Transparent Dark Walnut and finished with 2 coats of Polycrylic. The wood drank up the stain beautifully. I think it turned out great. Conclusion:I think the dresser turned out great and all the issues presented during assembly were easily resolved. I believe it’s overpriced a bit especially since it arrives unfinished. We needed a dresser we could stain for a bedroom and didn’t want to settle for lookalike mdf or partical board materials. I recommend staining/painting the pieces all individually prior to assembly. Will check back in after some use if I remember to and update on how it has held up. Definitely recommend purchasing new draw pulls. Really helps give it a fancier look than the stock ones.I really do love this dresser. Really solid wood and finishes beautifully. That said, there are some consistency issues. One drawer didn’t have pre drilled holes to guide the screws. The plywood splits easily when screwing the drawers together, i wood glued several boards back together. The drawers don’t line up perfectly, but honestly I’m not going to complain.40 yo female and it took me 45 mins to assemble by myself. Only tool needed is a screwdriver. Excellent quality and will look great in my teenagers room. Also bought the matching dresser but I’ll work on that another day. Considering staining and waiting for the drawer pulls I ordered to get delivered. Don’t hesitate, it was packaged great, zero damage.Very sturdy, drawers slide nicely. Can't wait to paint it, but looks fine until I doI personally like the natural wood look but you can do anything with it. Stain or paint, or simply swap out the knobs, which I plan to do in the future. We liked the dresser so much we bought the entire unpainted bedroom pieces. We will stain the in golden oak. So happy? It took me about two weeks to stain and assemble this dresser, but it was worth it. I didn't sand it and I should have because applying stain raises the grain and the texture gets roughed up. The assembly was not too difficult until the final side panel had to go on. So many dowels and divets have to be aligned and held in place at once that you need more than one set of hands. Other minor flaws: The screws holding the drawer railings were not initially screwed in perpendicularly causing unsmooth opening and closing of the drawers. I wish the railings were black because I stained with dark colors. And I was shorted 10 screws, so I had to make an extra trip to Lowes. I used wood glue in the assembly, so there is no wobble problem. It's a good, hardwood dresser, and I think it looks fabulous. Some trouble assembling- some drawers barely fit but we worked it out by trying each drawer into the tight space. Very cute dresser.
